Weapons

Reign of Terror Weaponry can be divided into Melee and Ranged Weapons. These weapons can be off-chain or on-chain. Weapons have various rarity levels. The higher the rarity, the more powerful it is. NFT Weapons can be combined with the same class to produce a higher rarity weapon of the same type. Which weapon an Agent can equip is dependent on their weapon proficiency.

Ranged and Melee

A ranged weapon is any weapon that can engage targets beyond hand-to-hand distance, i.e. at distances greater than the physical reach of the user holding the weapon itself. The act of using such a weapon is also known as shooting. They are sometimes also called projectile weapons or missile weapons because they typically work by launching solid projectiles ("missiles"), though a fluid-projector (which throws out pressurized streams of liquid or even gas). A directed-energy weapon (which does not involve any tangible projectiles) are also ranged weapons. In contrast, a weapon intended to be used in hand-to-hand combat is called a melee weapon.

Weapons have the following elements:

  • Weapon Type: Melee and Range

  • Weapon Proficiency: Agent specialization of weapon type.

  • Weapon Range: Range of weapon - short, medium, long

  • Weapon Effective Range: Every weapon has an effective range. Shots at targets out of the effective range suffer a penalty to accuracy

  • Damage output: Low, Medium, High.

  • Damage Type: There are several Damage Types in the game.

Assault Rifles (AR) are usually used by Vanguard role Agents. They are medium ranged weapons. Damage is higher but less accurate than SMGs.

Submachine Gun (SMGs) are mainly used by Vanguard and Assassin roles. They are medium ranged weapons. Damage is lower than AR but more accurate.

Shotguns (SG) are a primary weapon type restricted to [which Agents]. Shotguns are extremely effective at close range but their accuracy drops off quickly at longer ranges.

Sniper Rifles (SR) are a primary weapon type restricted to Marksman. Sniper rifles have a penalty for short range use.

Pistols (P) are primary short range, range weapons.

Spears (Sp) are melee weapons and are a pointed weapon.

Swords (Sw) are melee weapons with sharp edges.

Batons (Ba) are melee weapons designed like cylindrical clubs made of alloys.

Hammer (Ha) are melee weapons.
